Apple has sold 100 million iPod music players.

The company also noted that it had sold more than 2.5 billion songs, 50 million TV shows and more than 1.3 million movies through its iTunes music and media store.

“Apple took a totally different approach than most of the other companies,” said Roger Kay with Endpoint Technologies Associates.

While other companies saw digital music players as primarily for gadget geeks, Kay said Apple decided to “human engineer this so that people will like the experience. That was very, very key (to) setting the pace for everyone else in the industry.”

So, I haven't been blogging multiple entries a day like I used to. The thing is... I've been going through alot.

I have dealt with so many deaths in the past few months, from my father to friends to others. It just doesn't stop. And now a dear friend is in critical condition in the hospital.

I have been in a horrible place mentally. I can admit that! I have never really had to deal with death until months ago (and it just hasn't stopped).

I was reminded today by a dear loved one that I am going to California in a week. I totally realized... Life has a way of doing things. This trip couldn't have come at a better time...

We are the children of the Eighties. We are not the first "lost generation" nor today's lost generation; in fact, we think we know just where we stand - or are discovering it as we speak. We are the ones who played with Lego Building Blocks when they were just building blocks and gave Malibu Barbie crewcuts with safety scissors that never really cut.

We collected Garbage Pail Kids and Cabbage Patch Kids and My Little Ponies and Hot Wheels and He-Man action figures and thought She-Ra looked just a little bit like I would when I was a woman. Big Wheels and bicycles with streamers were the way to go, and sidewalk chalk was all you needed to build a city. Imagination was the key. It made the Ewok Treehouse big enough for you to be Luke and the kitchen table and an old sheet dark enough to be a tent in the forest. Your world was the backyard and it was all you needed. With your pink portable tape player, Debbie Gibson sang back up to you and everyone wanted a skirt like the Material Girl and a glove like Michael Jackson's.

Today, we are the ones who sing along with Bruce Stringsteen and The Bangles perfectly and have no idea why. We recite lines with the Ghostbusters and still look to The Goonies for a great adventure. We flip through T.V. stations and stop at The A Team and Knight Rider and Fame and laugh with The Cosby Show and Family Ties and Punky Brewster and what you talkin' 'bout Willis? We hold strong affections for The Muppets and The Gummy Bears and why did they take the Smurfs off the air? After school specials were only about cigarettes and step-families, the Pokka Dot Door was nothing like Barney, and aren't the Power Rangers just Voltron reincarnated?

We are the ones who still read Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, the Bobbsey Twins, Beverly Clearly and Judy Blume, Richard Scary and the Electric Company. Friendship bracelets were ties you couldn't break and friendship pins went on shoes - preferably hightop Velcro Reebox - and pegged jeans were in, as were Units belts and layered socks and jean jackets and jams and charm necklaces and side pony tails and just tails. Rave was a girl's best friend; braces with colored rubberbands made you cool.

The backdoor was always open and Mom served only red Kool-Aid to the neighborhood kids- never drank New Coke. Entertainment was cheap and lasted for hours. All you needed to be a princess was high heels and an apron; the Sit'n'Spin always made you dizzy but never made you stop; Pogoballs were dangerous weapons and Chinese Jump Ropes never failed to trip someone. In your Underoos you were Wonder Woman or Spider Man or R2D2 and in your treehouse you were king.

In the Eighties, nothing was wrong. Did you know the president was shot? Star Wars was not only a movie. Did you ever play in a bomb shelter? Did you see the Challenger explode or feed the homeless man? We forgot Vietnam and watched Tiananman's Square on CNN and bought pieces of the Berlin Wall at the store. AIDS was not the number one killer in the United States. We didn't start the fire, Billy Joel.

In the Eighties, we redefined the American Dream, and those years defined us. We are the generation in between strife and facing strife and not turning our backs. The Eighties may have made us idealistic, but it's that idealism that will push us and be passed on to our children - the first children of the twenty-first century. Never forget: We are the children of the Eighties.

After watching "THE SECRET," a buddy of mine shared something he wrote... I am going to share it with you all!

This is the testament of Brandon Brock. Light and darkness are the two paths given to us, or higher and lower frequency vibrations. We know both of these paths well 'and use them to get ahead on a daily basis. On the one side worldly power is the journey, "yet for those who seek this it is a destination, not a journey" which can be granted with the greatest of ease through deceipt and greed, but not without consequence and certainly no love involved. On the path of the righteous it is true happiness that is the journey, power holds no authority here. I posted a video of Robin Thicke while back. It was just one of those videos I had stumbled across. The song was “Lost Without U.”

I fell in love with this song. I think he has such a great sound in his voice. I listened to his entire album titled, THE EVOLUTION OF ROBIN THICKE! This album is amazingly phenomenal. I groove out to the entire album from beginning to end (while playing some tracks on repeat).

My flight began very awesome. The plan was like half full (if that)… I had an entire row to myself to just sprall out and relax. We leave a few minutes earlier than scheduled, and we get to NY 20 minutes early. The captain gets on the speaker, gives us the local temperature and conditions.

20 minutes later, the captain gets on the loud speaker again and says that we are going to Baltimore. Ummm, BALTIMORE????

“We are already in New York, on the holding deck to land. Why the HELL are we going to Baltimore?”

It so happened that our plane didn’t have enough fuel to wait in the air and land. That’s what the captain said.

We were in Baltimore for over 2 hours… sitting in this plane… No smoking, no drinking!

I finally got to NYC almost 4 hours later than scheduled!

At least I am here…

I fuckin’ love this city!

So…. I had to go to the bank before the airport… I left my house at 8:15am. I get stuck in mad traffic, and finally get to the airport at about 9:40.

All the check points are kosher, thank God! And I walk to my terminal. Now, let me tell ya’ll… I didn’t eat breakfast… So I had MAD munchies. I am sure you can put two and two together… I’m flying for fuck’s sake!

I’m walking in the terminal zone looking for a place to get something to eat. And something hot and cooked, possibly where I can be waited on… And it was like looking at an oasis in the desert. I see a couple sitting down in some place drinking two REALLY tall beers….

That would hit the spot…. So, I sat down… Now… I am just blogging about this because I started I noticed all of the alcohol placement. Wow! It seems as though the airline industry likes the passengers a little intoxicated.

Especially in Miami.. Those uptight people need a good beer to loosen up!

I’ve built walls. Walls so high, that sometimes I feel as if I cannot breathe…

In fact, it’s human nature to build walls. There is a secret to these walls, though. Okay- Let’s see if this comes out as good on paper as it did in my head….

The main factor is the foundation. I can’t help but ask questions… How was I raised? What beliefs did my parents instill in me? What kind of man am I? What kind of man do I want to become?

I admit that I tell everyone (even strangers) that I am a wonderful person because of my parents. They taught me that love is the most important and sacred thing in the world. Love for family, love for friends, love for others, love for pets, love for culture, love for arts, love for EVERYTHING!

Now with that being said, I don’t turn my back away on love. With this day in age, I can say that my walls are retractable. There’s a time and a place when sometimes one needs to crack a window, open up a door, or retract that wall…

I believe the unhealthiest thing one can do is run away, and hide behind these walls. Once again, I couldn’t help but ask questions… How does one build immunity to colds if he/she never had one? How does one learn to clean a wound if injury is always prevented? How can one know heartache without losing a love one?

I believe flaws, mistakes, and stupid decisions (in the long run) are EXTREMELY beneficial. They toughen the skin. They make me A MAN!

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.. I know where my watch is pal, where is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2 People who are willing to get off their butt to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3 When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". That's right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4 When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?

5 When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the floor.

6 People who ask "Can I ask you a question?"... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

7 When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

8 When people say "life is short". ?? Life is the longest thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

Spa

I went to the spa this morning! I got a facial, peel and a pedicure... They gave me a quick little massage too...

It was very nice... I NEEDED a little bit of pampering and detoxifying. When I say detoxifying, I mean physically and spiritually.

It started off with the pedicure. The pedicurist did an amazing job. I fell asleep while she was massaging and cleaning and clipping and pumice stoning! She massaged my feet all the way up to my knees...

Then I had a facial scheduled. The place was beautiful. The soothing music was comforting. The facialist was amazing. My favorite part of the peel and facial was when she start extracting all the yukkie stuff. WOW MY FACE FEELS CLEAN!

Even better is the spiritual feeling. I came out of there a new man! As I sat there and actually relaxed, and spoke to the facialist about my only skin problems are from stress, I felt all the stress fly away. There's no reason to stress...

When I left the spa, i got yelled at by an crazed man! I prayed for him... He needs to go to the spa.. AND RELAX!

Sometimes I think that I am a bit weird. In a good way! I love oldies... Movies from the 30's, stle from the 40's, cars from the 50's, drugs from the 60's, lingo from the 70's, childhood in the 80's...

Anyways, one of my favorite TV shows is The Mary Tyler Moore Show! I think it's phenomenal! I love Mary and Rhoda... and Mr. Grant, too.

Mary never ever wears the same outfit twist, and that ends up being a great thing because her style is what the gays call "FIERCE!"

I think this TV show was one of the great American comedy tv series. And I just bought Season 4! That makes me the proud owner of the first four seasons on DVD!

Here's a little factoid.. They had to redo parts of the pilot episode because they had Mary divorced, and in the 70's that was unheard of... so they turned her into a woman who just ended a relationship because he didn't want to propose!

Tomorrow is my sister's birthday. March 1st. She actually missed the leap year.

Anyways, I went shopping with my mother after dinner. I made a fuckin' killer ROPA VIEJA. For those of you who don't know about hispanic food, it's a delicious shredded beef dish. We did some serious damage in the mall.

However, my mom jokingly screamed how she couldn't go anywhere with me. Wanna know why? Cuz right now as I am righting this blog, I am bundled in a freakin' cloud. I bought myself the softest (AND I MEAN SOFTEST) white robe known to man kind. Oh, its fuckin heaven!

I LOVE SHOPPING! It makes me feel great. I am bringing all these new objects into my life. They just sit there lifeless in the store, then I bring them home and bring them to life. I accessorize, colorize, and hottie-ize all these objects.

But to getting back to the whole point of the blog...

I did some serious therapy session. After the mall, we went to CVS to obtain some birthday cards and bags, and all that crap one buys for gifts. I stayed in that card aisle forever. I just love reading cards. Birthday cards, get well cards, love cards, anniversary cards, im sorry cards, i miss you cards.

Sometimes I even buy like 10 cards, just to have on reserve. It's soul cleansing..

I remember my senior year in high school. In fact, I remember it as though it was yesterday.

You see, I suffer from some serious “toys-r-us” complex. I just don’t wanna grow up. Okay- so I backtracked a bit.

Senior year in high school, we had to put a quote below our pictures in the yearbook. At the time, this was a major deal. I mean… this would define who I was during this extremely important time of my life. A time in my life where I was figuring who I was at that time and who I was going to be in the future. I searched and searched and searched. Well, I found it!

One day after "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell slammed Kelly Clarkson for refusing to let the TV talent contest that launched her career use her hits, a spokesperson for the pop star denies there was ever a dispute over song rights.

"Kelly Clarkson was happy to hear her song, 'Since U Been Gone,' on 'American Idol' ... and as far as she's concerned there is no conflict between her and the TV show," says her publicist.

"She intended all along to license additional material to the show and will do so when asked and within reason." A contestant on the hit show's season premiere warbled Clarkson's massive hit "Since U Been Gone" in the first few minutes of the program.

Cowell, speaking to a gathering of TV critics on Tuesday, said that Clarkson would be making a "big mistake" if she barred "Idol" from using her songs after the show catapulted her to stardom.

"No matter how talented Kelly Clarkson is, she would not be in the position she's in now without winning this show," he said. "It's the public who bothered to pick up the phone and vote for her. If she refuses to give songs to be used on the show, it's like saying to every person who voted for you, 'You know what? Thank you. I'm not interested in you anymore."'

"Idol" must get permission from the owners of song licenses, Clarkson included, before broadcasting the material. Clarkson's representatives say they were in standard negotiations over those rights and that Cowell's remarks took them by surprise.

"Kelly is fine with her songs being used on the show. There was never an issue," her publicist said.

A spokesperson for "Idol" agreed that negotiations were in progress and said it was not clear if Clarkson was ever personally involved in those talks.

Mr Farber says the success of brands dedicated to the African American and Hispanic audiences has helped talent in those communities cross over well beyond their core audiences.
Music With a Twist's roster will feature gay artists who have mass appeal and hit potential across all musical genres.

The label also plans to release various compilations geared toward gay and bisexual audiences, featuring hit songs by established artists that have been embraced by gay, bisexual and transgender audiences, as well as tracks from emerging gay artists.
